In case you couldn't catch the reference, I was talking about Dragonball Z. I used to watch that show religiously everyday when I was younger. Of course I grew out of it and moved on to bigger and better things. While I was searching for blog topics I found that DBZ released a new game called DB: Raging Blast. I had only played a DBZ game once or twice so I decided to look into the newest installment. Here is my review.
Just from reading other reviews, it seems like this games has many pros and cons. The game is said to capture the feel of the Dragonball world. The characters bring back the nostalgic feeling that DBZ fans would enjoy. The controls are easy to learn, but hard to master. Really, it reminds me of any other beat-em-up game consisting of button mashing galore. Nonetheless DBZ fans will be happen to play as all their favorite characters as the list consists of nearly everyone associated with Dragonball. Some of the bad aspects include lack of fighting depth, and there is not much of a fighting differential between the characters. Overall DB: Raging Blast received a 6.0.
The game consists all modes that fighting games have like arcade, survival, and time trial. But the most interesting aspect is the scenario mode called the Dragon Battle Collection. Basically you play thorough some of the major storylines like the Saiyan Saga, and the Android/Cell Saga. Also this mode includes some what if moments. For example what if Cell won the tournament, you would see how the world would have been affected. But reviewers said that this made the story fuzzy and more confusing.
