Band Hero...DJ Hero..Seriously?
Over the past year or so, the gaming industry has been bombarded with music games. The front runner in this genre is Activision. Now get me wrong, I love Guitar Hero, but I think it is beginning to be a little much. It seems like every two months a new Guitar Hero, or band game comes out. Just in the past year there has been Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero 5, The Beatles Rock Band just to name a few. But now Activision is starting to go a little over board with it. Just 2 months after Guitar Hero 5 came out, they released Band Hero. The way I see it, this is Activisions plot to make more money. They are basically the same game, only with different songs. There is nothing new, so I honestly don't see the point in getting it. I was looking on Gamespot when I saw that they were also coming out with Guitar Hero Van Halen. Seriously Activision, seriously? I am not cutting these games down, I am sure they are fun, but it just seem like a bit much.
But Activision does not stop there. They released DJ Hero, which looks like the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. Half the songs I have never heard of, and the layout just look confusing. I know that you are not supposed to knock it until you try it, but I don't intended on spending over a hundred dollars on something that might be good. Now it could be worse, there could be Lego Rock Band or something. Oh wait, there is. I don't have much to say on that on that other than that is the funniest thing I have ever seen.
Wow, I can't believe how far they have taken this trend (oh wait.. yes I can $$$$). As someone who comes from a family that bonds by playing rock band, I really appreciate the new songs that come each week, but these special disks are a waste of money and time. I think that they are just getting way too greedy!
