Most Promising Games of 2010: God of War 3

I'm kinda going off the rails a bit here and changing platforms. Before I had the Xbox 360, I used the PS2. One of the best games that I ever played on that console was the God of War series. Luckily my brother owns a PS3 so I can play the newest installment in God of War 3. This game was awarded the most anticipated game of 2010. This series is so full of twists and excitement that it keeps drawing gamers back.

In God of War 3 the gameplay is to be similar to its previous installments. Only 3 weapons have been confirmed so far in the story and those are a bow, the classic Blades of Athena, and a new weapon called the Cestus which are fist gauntlets. As far as plot goes all that we know is that Kratos is seeking revenge on those that made him suffer. At the end of the second game Kratos was seen gathering the titans and climbing Mt. Olympus to kill the Zeus. Basically Kratos is going to kill the Greek gods one by one with the help of the mighty Titans. In a demo that was released it can be seen at the end of it Kratos preparing to rip of the head of the god Helios. God of War 3 is going to be the bloodiest, gruesome, and most epic game the gaming world has seen in a long time.

Most Promising Games of 2010: Fable 3

Lionhead studios is adding to their award winning series with Fable 3. The release date as of now is not set, only sometime in the 4th quarter of 2010. This installment will fall in semi-correlation with the Fable 2. This means that if you played Fable 2, you can import the saved data and the choices that you made there will impact how Fable 3 is played. However if you don't have Fable 2, don't worry, Fable 3 will still be just as enjoyable.

The premise of Fable 3 is 50 years into the future of Albion. Now the beloved place is under the rule of a tyrant king. You play the "Hero" and lead an uprising to defend your fathers honor as he was killed by the hands of the current king. But that is just the first half of the game. The second half consists of you becoming king and making decisions. However not all is peaceful during your reign. The threat of a foreign army is beckoning at the shores of Albion. This will be the first time Fable will expand it boarders beyond just the world of Albion. Every decision made in this game will affect its outcome making the game more interesting and intriguing.

Most Promising Games of 2010: Bioshock 2

Another gaming juggernaut will hit stores February 9th, 2010 with Bioshock 2. 2K games is expecting for this installment to surpass the first in many ways. One is artistic design. The first Bioshock was not just a game, it was a work of art. The world of Rapture was stunning, and the developers did an amazing job. I don't know how it can get any better. They also hope to improve the multiplayer. I never played the Bioshock multiplayer but if a game wants to be successful they have got to land the multiplayer aspect.

Rapture this time around will have a different feel to it. The campaign is set ten years after the original and will explore what life would be like if the inhabitants of Rapture continued to fester. But the multiplayer will actually be set one year prior to the original. But during the campaign you play as the original Big Daddy who has finally been about to regain his free will. After being a zombie for many years he is able to think again. However the only thing he is worried about is the Little Sister he was first paired with. This journey will not be easy as Rapture as become more unstable and scary.

Most Promising Games of 2010: Mass Effect 2

Bioware will launch their franchise game January 26, 2010 with Mass Effect 2. There were many rumors surrounding this game prior to the announcement of a sequel. Everyone started saying that Shepard was dead and there won't be a second one. Well Shepard is alive and ready to fight against the Cerberus Corporation. From what I have read Shepard will be going on a suicide mission. Throughout the story he will be recruiting powerful individuals from all races, including one that is unknown.

Mass Effect 2 will not only feature new dialogue options, but new combat options as well. BioWare showed off multiple physics-based attacks that sent Shepard's vanguard enemies flying, as well as shooting and cover mechanics that resembled those of the first game. There are nine new classes of weapons, including heavy weapons, such as a missile launcher. Mass Effect 2's visuals look darker and grittier than before, as well as a lot more fluid. The new character models move and speak smoothly. There is said to be other improvement but Bioware has not elaborated on what those could be. This should be one of the best games of 2010.

Rogue Warrior

Bethesda gaming company, makers of Fallout and Oblivion, have released their new modern shooter in Rogue Warrior. This is a far cry from games like Fallout which were RPGs, and will be interesting to see how this game unfolds. Will Rogue Warrior be able to live up to standards set by the games before it? Here is my review.

Long story short, Rogue Warrior might be the worst game to come out this year. The campaign is only 2 hours long. Its hard to understand the story over the massive amount vulgar language. The game is also to straight forward, and boring. There is a lot of action, but just not anything to get excited over. The idea behind this game is to be stealthy. However the AI is retarded so you don't have to be all that sneaky. The only good thing that I have read about this game is that the close quarter combat looks pretty sweet. It does not look like much time went into the production of this game. Therefore it received a grade that reflects that with a 2.0. I have never seen a game score so low, and that is really saying something.

In Rogue Warrior, you play as Dick "Demo Dick" Marcinko. Seriously, what kind of name is that? Anyway you are fighting against the Russians and Koreans. Over what I don't know because all the review did was cut down the game, and did not even mention the campaign. There is multiplayer with only 2 modes, deathmatch and team deathmatch. No prizes, no perks, no rewards, no nothing. Basically what I am gettin at is avoid this game.

And Bethesda is asking full price...come on, really?

Getting Banned on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Starting December 2, Xbox live will be banning anyone who frequently abuses the "javelin glitch". Basically whats happens is a player switches to the javelin missile launcher after cooking a semtex grenade by holding down the grenade throw button. This locks the player's actions, but once the player dies the javelin missile explodes, killing all enemies in the area. The punishment for the exploitation of this glitch will result in a banning of up to 24 hours, a week and in some cases maybe even permanently.

I don't see why this is such a big deal. Activision is just mad because someone found a loophole in the multiplayer. This kind of stuff happens all the time, and I don't know why this is making so much news. This is no different than the martyrdom perk, where a player drops a live grenade after dying. They are planning to fix the glitch in their next patch so I don't know why they feel the need to ban people. Kudos to who ever found the glitch. Keep on gaming.

Here is a video on how to do the glitch.
