All Time Greatest Game Hero

I was searching around on this gaming website when I came across a competition were they took 64 of the best heroes and had a tournament. They had characters from all time periods, from Mario and Donkey Kong to Cloud Strife and Kratos. By who is left I can pretty much tell who is gonna win which is Mario, but I completely disagree with it. Mario is great and all but it seems like the old Mario games were just the same thing over and over. The guy basically went around trying to find this girl while all along fighting a giant turtle. To me that is not was epic and compelling as some of the other heroes listed. For example, Kratos is a one man killing machine. He was killed two of the biggest Greek Gods in Ares and Zeus and his games are some of the best in the 20th century. Another hero that I had in mind was Gordon Freeman from the Half-Life series. Gordon Freeman is trying to rid the world of evil with nothing but his handy crowbar. And his titles were the best selling PC games ever. I am not taking anything away from Mario, he is a great hero, but any competiton with him in it is just unfair.

From the 64 heroes that were listed, my pick would have been Marcus Fenix. He is the main character from the Gears of War franchise and that is personally my favorite game.

Leave a comment about your favorite video game hero.

Halo 3: ODST

Today is probably one of the biggest days in the gaming industry. Halo 3: ODST was one of the most pre-ordered games ever on XBOX 360, and today it hit stores. This game has been on the mind of gamers ever since Bungie said that they were making another Halo which then was orginally named Halo 3: Recon. But would hit it deliver what Halo faithfuls have been waiting for? Here is my review.

Halo 3:ODST was originally intended just to be an add on to Halo 3, but players pushed and pushed and Bungie eventually turned the add on to a stand alone game. However Bungie had to come together and create something that would separate Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST. One thing that they added was a Firefight mode which is basically four player working together to play against a never-ending horde of Covenant troops. Halo 3: ODST also has a totally revamped campaign where you are no longer the great spartan Master Chief, instead you are just a normal infantry member named "The Rookie". But Bungie stuck to its roots and keep the same great Halo multiplayer introducing 3 new maps.

As far as the story goes, you are a new ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Tropper) member who is dropped in New Mombasa to pick up intel before the Covenant do. However the helicopter that you were on crashes and you are left alone is a hostile enviroment. But you are able to find equipment that your lost members left behind as they provide clues as to what exactly happened during and after the crash. Also gamers my be asking themselves why are we fighting the Covenant when in Halo 3 the were our allies? Well Halo 3: ODST is a prequel to the orginal and the ties between the Convenant and Humans had not been sealed. Overall this game was given anywhere from a 8.5 to a 9.

Also there is no Flood. So I am sure everyone enjoys that.
